Shifting Issues

I've been having a problem with 5th and reverse. Both grind about 95% of the time just going into gear. Also have problems with the shifter popping out of these gears on its own once they are engaged. Its more noticable in 5th because I usually dont stay in reverse long enough for it to have the same problem. I did figure out I could get into reverse without grinding if I move the shifter into 4th, then into reverse. Also noticed how loose and playful the shifter feels in pretty much all of the gear slots, moves side to side quite a bit, which just doesnt seem normal to me. So is there a simple fix for this or is it more of a major issue?
