3/5 was the beginning of Job 2, and not an exact cutoff. There were changes occurring from that date until at least the middle of April, as older parts were phased out.

Just ask those folks who got the original headrests up until mid-April. Are you sure other parts or procedures were not "phased out" the same way? If not, I don't see how you can state with certainty that the date "doesn't correspond at all". The Job 2 changeover description even states that 3/5 was not an exact cutoff date, and 4/2 corresponds to the time period where some changes were still being made.

Well technically when you say switchover that implies the start of the changes. Technically it was an ongoing process as they ran out of stock of the older parts in the pipeline. I don't claim to know exactly when they fully implemented the changes intended for Job 2, but from 3/5/12 they started to build more flex fuel models.

Technically, no. Technically switchover is defined as the "act or process of changing from one power source, system, etc., to another" and doesn't imply the beginning of a process or an immediate act. I think it was more the case that you assumed I meant the beginning of Job 2 changes, rather than me implying it.

I don't exactly either. However, if that is so, then why would you state outright that this particular change doesn't "correspond" to Job 2? (Again, notice that I said "coincide" in my original comment, and not "correspond" as you did) Just FYI, some changes outlined as Job 2 were not entirely in production until mid-late April. So, yes, an early April date does coincide with Job 2.

Before you make another assumption, though, I should state that I'm not implying--nor did I state--that this "corresponded" to Job 2 changes. I'm merely pointing out that it "coincides" with the time period of the switchover--exactly as I stated in my first comment.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and new to driving a Ford.
In regards to the clunking front end issues (struts n bearings), I too am having this issue and can't seem to find out if there is a TSB or an FSA for my car that was manufactured later in August 2012. I know there seems to be one TSB for earlier production cars but after reading almost 100 pages of the same issues any help would be greatly appreciated. I too did take my car in and they too said that they didn't notice the clunking sound.... Great car if they fixed the transmission and clunking issues. I am not sure what the latest word on the clunking issue is or if later cars have a TSB. Any information would be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance

Crystal, is Ford any closer to an answer to this problem? Surely they have enough Vin's and input from dealers to come up with something other than changing the same parts over and over.

I have 2012 SEL sedan i think the build date was july 2012, i noticed rattling sound when going at low speeds, and turning, and over bumps. I think its coming from the front left side or maybe i just hear it best since thats the driver side. but thats what it sounds like. I guess this isnt supposed to be normal right? I have about 1700 miles on it.

Nope. There's a TSB on this for repair.

Could we get a genuine follow up like
a) Ford is actively pursuing engineering solutions but no idea on timing..
b) Ford is actively pursuing engineering solutions, with ETA of 3-6 months..
c) Ford is not looking to issue further TSB...
d) other?
