S2 cluster in a 2.3D PZEV, is it possible??

I think he wants to go the other way around (S2 gauges are gray?). Our 03 has gray gauges and you can get the duratec 2.3 in 03 (and 04) so you should be able to find one.

^^Correct, I have the black gauges with tachometer now and want to switch to the grey S2 gauges.

TriggersDawn, your car is a 03 and has grey gauges? What model or trim level is it? I thought only the S2 edition had grey gauges, I must be wrong on that. Thanks!

I was looking around on the internet. It appears that the duratec's come with black gauges and the zetec gray.

It looks like for 05-07 they come in both black and gray gauges but I'm not sure which packages get you gray. They do however appear to be a different shade of gray.

iminhell showed above that the wire connector is different between the zetec and duratec clusters but you can swap the faces.

That's probably wise. IMHO it's only worth it to swap a non tach cluster with one that has a tach.

I already have an S2 wing on my car and wanted the grey gauges, I think they look real nice, 10 years ago I would have dont the whole face swap, I prefer not to do so much work no days, lol.

Hmm, found this on ebay, he has 3 of them, all say for a 2.3D auto or 5 speed for an 03 or 04. But the km/h letters are yellow, not red like yours TriggersDawn. I wonder if thats a zetec/duratec thing???

So no-one on this site has this^^^cluster on their 2.3 auto 2003 or 2004?? They must be as rare as people say they are!!!!!

I don't know why some Zetecs have a gray cluster, but it is not a Zetec thing. In fact the clusters in most Foci are black

According to the ebay listing, the 3 grey ones he has are from 2.3 03-04 duratecs. I have read multiple places the S2 (early zetec) will not work on a duratec because the plugs.
