why did ur brake and clutch lines need bleeding?

Your master cylinder may be on its way out. Is there fluid dripping from the clutch pedal?

carefully? Not really sure...i just remember bench bleeding.

I assume its filling with fluid and manually doing the pumping action.

When you said you let off the gas and get back in it. You mean push the clutch in and the release it? The way a dealer will yes you clutch is put it in 5th gear and slowly let your clutch out. If it stalls the engine your clutch is ok. However it can be in its way out for a while before that happens. My brother nursed his for a few months once it started going. Take it out on the highway and get in 5th gear. Slow down to say 55 and go wot. If the engine revs and the car doesn't accelerate very wel it's slipping. If there is air in your clutch line the pedal won't feel firm at the too of its travel.
