Lost a splash guard fastener

As the title says, I lost a fastener while installing my splash guards, so now my right front has a hole that desperately needs a pin. I went through all the usual channels (Dealer Parts Dept., PM to Crystal (thanks for trying!), chat on FordParts), and all say the fasteners are only part of the kit, and can't be found separately.

I'm rather stubbornly particular about parts, so I'm looking for the same retainer as in the kit, and before pulling the trigger on a whole kit just for one fastener, I'm wondering if anyone else has gone through this, and found the parts, or has done what I'm about to do, and can let me have an extra. If not, I'll just get a new front kit, and make the extra parts available for whomever might need them.

I just googled plastic rivets auto and found this. I have the ford flaps on mine and I think it was something like this. I installed mine over a year ago, so memory not so good. Or maybe this?

Stop by a body shop, not a dealer but an independent shop. They should be able to find something that will work.

The first one looks the part, but works in reverse, like a pop rivet. The second one seems too shallow, like the ones you remove before installing the flaps. Thanks for the links, though!

Yeah, I know it sounds a bit weird, but it would bug me just as much to have a different part as it would no part.

Pretty sure you can buy these push rivets in any auto parts store. They will look exactly the same as the OEM ones.

Oh, sweet! I considered that, since I bought the kits from them, but being basically the Parts Department for a dealer in Chico, I figured I'd get the same answer as my local dealer. I'll give them a call.

Argh, no dice. Partscheap said the same as my local dealer: it's part of the kit. I'll try the auto parts stores, and save the crazy route of getting a whole new kit for a last resort. Thanks for the help!

Exactly the same part and only cost $.85 each
