RPM at idle
Hello Foci Fanatics
What is the ideal RPM at idle once engine is warm? How do you adjust RPM? Is there an adjustment screw on throttle? Cheers Eric |

the ideal rpm at iddle is around 850

Mine's usually in the mid 800s. I'd imagine you'd have to tinker with the ECU to adjust it... but I can't think of a reason why you'd want to!

850? Really? Once mine is at full temp she idles around 680 to 710. I thought that was normal cause I owned a few VWs and they usually idled at 700.

Yeah, between 750 and 800..here's mine..it,s a bit high because it was just after the second start up from the gas station...but yeah between 750 and 800.
I have the Duratec. Maybe it revs a bit higher

Mine is on my Garmin which connects to the ECU. It was actually idling even lower then I stated.

The idle value will be different in gear vs. out of gear and ATX vs. MTX.
At fully warmed up and heat soaked our SPI ATX: - in gear averages 650 rpm - out of gear averages 700 rmp
