2012 Focus Transmission Shaking

please do let us know, this new angle on the transmission probelsm may be the break we all need to get beyond the reflash and assurance that the rest is normal.

It s NOT normal when your passengers ask whats wrong-whats that noise and the vw GTI does NOT do this, I owned one.

i am having the same problem when warmed up. i have had it back 6 times the last time they put in a new clutch in automatic trans. it still does it so i took it back and now they are saying it needs a breakin period of 4000 klms. i don't know what they will do next if it still does it after breakin period .

It's the weekend, she will respond on Monday, but I think the new girl's name is Crystal. It doesn't matter, you're contacting corporate, and they have ways to make unruly dealers act nice.

My dealer has been great but when corporate tells them that t is typical, there is not much more they can do.

I am gathering up as much data as possible and connecting owners at varous websites for the benefit of all.

Great car except for this transmission problem which did NOT have on my vw GTI.
(same type transmission)

I have no doubt that Ford can fix this for me. It is up to me and all other focus owners to be proactive.

Steve, I have 12,000 miles and it still has the problems. see the ford focus facebook page posts to talk to other folks that have it, as well as review the many posts here.

Also don't be convinced when people say it is normal for this type transmission.

I owned a VW GTI with the same type trans and it did NOT do this.

Consumer reports is very unbiased and mentioned this problem in all their reviews.

When something is enough to cause your passengers to ask whats wrong, something is wrong.

Ford cares and they will fix this.

Got my trans reflashed 1000 times better then it was...it was like it was lugging In to high of a gear and jerked half way through 1st gear progression.now it's pretty good.there will always be something being a dct.i have never heard a 100% quiet manual trans.so far so good. ..now that being said wish they could find out why the bumper sensors keep beeping.with nothing around me

Does anybody know if these problems with the transmission are ongoing or are they limited to vehicles built before a certain date? I'm considering a 2013 Focus but don't want anything to do with one if this is an ongoing problem.

The problem is that corporate Ford has told the dealerships that these issues are how the transmission is *supposed* to act, so when the dealer refuses to fix something they're acting in accordance with Ford's own rules. No matter how many times you call Ford they won't do a thing about it.

Believe me...I tried. Now the Regional manager doesn't even pick up her phone because for a month and a half we were calling each other every other day and the issue was never resolved. She said "We can't force the dealerships to do anything because they're independent dealerships".
