Where did you get these specs, BTW? The UNI online catalog only shows "length", not "installed height".

After submitting the question about UP6275ST, I finally got an answer from UNI:

Hi,



6” is the foam length.



Overall approx. 6 ¾” long.

So, 4", 6" is indeed not the overall length. It is only the length of the filter element. Unfortunately, that means the 6" filter will probably be too long for installation on a K&N Typhoon.

I'm probably not going to do that. UNI doesn't quite match the flow rate of an equal-sized K&N, and my K&N is larger than the 4" UNI. Granted, the UNI filters better, and that's exactly why I was considering it.

I think for now I'm just going to buy and Outerwears prefilter for my K&N. I will consider adding the 6" UNI later. I can modify the current setup to give me just enough room for it.
