Dude, I've been working on cars for over 20 years now and I've never had to taste anything to figure out what type of fluid it is. If you are going to taste it though, at least get yourself some artisan bread from the local bakery and dip it............jk

I did make notice that it may sound bad or stupid...

Now I haven't been working on cars for over 20 years.. I don't know a whole alot about how to fix alot of cars, but I know how to repair the problems on my car. I've had it long enough, 10+ years now, I'm past taking it to a mechanic who knows jack about my SVT. I don't however know how to diagnose alot of problems that concern this car. I turn to this forum to help me figure out my issues and help me to figure out what they are; and how to figure out to fix them. I know if its sweet its coolant and not oil. So, if the OP isn't a car genius and is trying to diagnose an unknown problem, he could try that method. It would save him taking it to a shop, who might charge a diagnostic fee...
