svt gear oil

hey, just wondering if anyone knows the weight of the recommended getrag gear oil....it's not on the synthetic gear oil i got from ford...thanks!!

It's not the older style 80W-90, etc. 'gear oil' that you would use in an older trans or rear end. It's Mercon V full synthetic. It's not really labeled by viscosity (or weight.)

i dont think its mercon 5 but i could be wrong, I think they have there own special fluild

Your best off just going with the Ford Full Synthetic that Ford calls for

That's all I run in my SVTF (change it annually) and it's all I ran in my SVTC that I owned for 4 years with no troubles what so ever.

Amsoil Synthetic MTF is great fluid as well.

I swapped to the Royal Purple after about 10,000 miles....just changed it for the 3rd time and i'm at 148,000 with no issues....

It's called syncromesh its made by penzoil and O'Reilly's carries it

Fully synthetic Mercon V (rated) is absolutely what is listed in the manual and factory/dealership service CD.
