Aux in sound quality

I have the base sound system in my 2012 Focus, and the sound quality using the aix-in is pretty poor. Tried different cables, etc, but no better sound. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have any luck with a warranty repair?

I don't know about poor sound quality exactly, but I do know that using both the Line In and Bluetooth, I have to crank my iPod up all the way, and then I have to turn the stereo up pretty high to get it to be reasonably audible.

Turning the iPod up all the way does cause some distortion.

I just tried using a monoprice bluetooth adapter to aux in. Works excellant playing audio from my tablet. Great 20 dollar solution. My ipod must have a bad or poor fitting cable.

I've always had trouble with interference with AUX in while also using a power cord (Charging the phone at the same time). I then switched to a unit that utilizes USB for both audio in and charging and now I can charge and play simultaneously with no interference.

The whole AUX in/RCA jack has never sounded good in any car/head unit. Its just the nature of the beast.

Untrue. I've had both Kenwood and Pioneer head units that employed aux-in jacks and they worked wonderfully. Couldn't tell the difference between that and USB from the same device, with the music encoded at 256Kbps.

There was a noticeable difference in my Kenwoods compared to USB and AUX in with the same or higher bit rates.
