i got rid of my arm rest, i got sick of hitting my elbow off it. As far as long trips i have drove 14hrs straight before with no issues, just rest your arm on your leg.
also looks much nicer imo. |

took it off. it's not very comfortable, but then again i haven't actually driven around with it off. i'll go to town today and see how i like it.

Had no armrest on my Kona and had no problems. When I got the zx5 earlier this year it had an armrest. I'm 50/50 split on it. I do occasionally find myself resting my arm on it. Don't really use it for storage since my glove box is basically empty. Does kinda get in my way sometimes. Personally just don't like the look of it. Plan ti take out the whole center console since I already have an svt console to go in its place.

yeah, i drove to town today, and i do like it without the arm rest. just like driving with it, it will take some getting used to. but i don't mind it.

i didn't get it yet. but i have acess to 2 junkyards with several foci. i believe i'll be able to find the one i'm looking for.

I have 2 consoles without armrests and one with an armrest. My car came with it and I never really cared for it. It always made for awkward shifts. Finally I ended up having a friend hook me up with some of his old parts. He gave me his shift base risers which made having a center console not possible at all. I also bought his race seats and that with the armrest was really annoying to drive. I ended up buying 2 without from another member and cut one up to fit my car.
Needless to say it looks better is more comfortable and honestly I usually rested my arm on my lap instead. Don't really miss the storage either.
