I've had Apple Maps for a week now and I still hate it! The workarounds are clumsy and slow. The bottom line is Apple took away something that worked well, Google Maps, and replaced it with something that doesn't. They should just push Google Maps back out to us instead of sending weak apologies from the CEO.

Anyway, at least we now know where the BSquare programmers went after they got fired from the MFT project. LOL

Unfortunately they didn't. They are just subcontracted by Microsoft now instead of Ford directly. They are still involved though to a lesser extent. I'm hoping it is just because MS needed their help transitioning since BSquare had such intimate knowledge of the original and their role will continue to diminish to the point of eventually being removed from the picture completely.

Since the software is just as terrible as its always been, i doubt it. At this point I really think Ford has just abandoned the notion of ever truly fixing the interface. I bet they only have 2 or 3 guys working on it part time while everyone else works on the next thing.

BSquare's lead developer role was taken away. What's left of BSquare's involvement is only legacy support, for what they originally developed. Good riddance. I'm convinced the rest went to work on Apple Maps. LOL

I just have to shake my head after reading the details of how Apple Maps was developed. This was a 5 year effort on Apple's part, and tons of resources were poured into it, buying up companies along the way. What they delivered is bad, by any measure. YUK! It's especially bad coming from a company that boasts of their development prowess, and supposedly not releasing stuff until it works.

Taking away something that worked, and worked very well, just adds insult to the injury and screams of corporate hubris. They just need to bring back Google Maps until they get their act together. PLEASE!!!

Hah, I've had a 5 for 8 days now and to this point have never once launched Apple Maps on it. Maybe I should out of idle curiousity....

Texting problem with Android

Hello: I bought a Galaxy S3 two weeks ago and, up until yesterday, texting worked fine; could receive and send messages. Now it will not receive messages. Anyone have a solution to this problem? I've changed nothing in the MFT or Android phone settings. THanks.

Try disabling 911 assist in MFT, that always worked on my set up (SGS2).

One of 2 things have always worked for me 100%.

1. remove battery from phone, put battery back and restart phone.

if that doesn't work then,

2. delayedreboot.cab. you can download it from fordedgeforum.com

Or you can download it here and you do not have to register for a new forum to get it.

@ lewisra-

It is funny, when I try to post the above link for people over at SMR the mod won't put it up and keeps switching it. Go figure.
