World record MPG?

FYI, my best legit number is 54.6. That's maintaining 60mph on a relatively flat highway, with the AC off. AC on at 65-70 I routinely get 42-46.

When I had my old Lincoln Mark VIII it would peg out at 99.9. The display maxed out, but the computer would keep computing the average correctly (I could tell by the delay required for the average to drop after a long coast).

nope, in neutral the car uses gas to idle. in gear while coasting over a certain speed, it uses absolutely zero.

when ever is coast the instant fuel meter reads only to 99.9mpg so i gues that the top this car can read...but there isnt really any point as my mpg is so poor xD

I actually got 53 MPG on a tank of gas. I drove 450 miles (obviously wasn't empty), all highway doing 65-70 on flat roads. It was a long road trip and I didn't hit a bit of traffic. I don't have a picture of the read out on my car because it didn't show it right. However, when I filled up my miles traveled/gallons fuel = 53. Best I ever got with the car

My average has gone way up since this was taken. I average around 36 over the lifetime of the vehicle

i'm not even making 20 on this latest tank...city driving in china is hell! they cut you up they shift lanes like they are running from cops!

I had 3 tanks in a row over 43mpg with the average for those 3 tanks and 1350 miles of over 44mpg. Of course, I was in Yellowstone where the max speed limit is 45mph...
