Can you image a worse place to get useful feedback than the forums?

You've gotta take the good with the bad.

Otherwise you'd totally miss the fact that I have managed to fix the clunk myself, and I also documented my entire procedure and parts list (all Ford parts, too). I would hope Ford would consider that to be useful feedback.

Pretty sure the people in this forum have been way more helpful than that. It seems to be narrowed down to the front end.

We are not all engineers...us pointing out the problem should be a starting point for them to go back and look at things closer. Not to mention the dozens of people here alone who HAVE brought their cars in to be checked out. Ford Engineers should be sent out to investigate these vehicles.

What Ford engineers?!?!

... seems there is not a lot... and/or Ford has no budget for this....
seriously if it was in their budget there would be some brains hands involved.. and a fix... (from Ford)

I agree. These forums should be helpful. Although, I don't have this issue (yet). *knock on wood*

Even if we don't come up with a "real" solution, us getting parts replaced that fix the issue but the noise eventually comes back should give Ford some insight on what part(s) need to be redesigned, not replaced. Sure, I'm a mechanical engineer, but I don't think anyone needs to be one to know that the suspension is flawed.

Statistically speaking though, how many individual cars are involved? Many, many multiple posters

While this is a true statement, it must also take into account the amount of time that has lapsed, the number of worthless/incompetent dealerships, and the multiple vehicles that went in for a fix, became normal for a period of time and then became clunky again.

We are only a statistically tiny fraction of the total population of Focus owners...

You are going to have a boat load of people as well, who know nothing about cars (especially suspension), who have no clue that it isn't suppose to sound like this clunk we all have. They could be clllllluueeelessss. And there is the older generation who buy these cars, too. Do you think they are going to notice this as well? I think not.
