replaced fuel pump still cuts out on corners

i replaced the fuel pump in my 00' focus dohc a week ago, it used to bog out and hesitate if you were taking a ramp, still does it with a new pump. is there an issue with the canister or somthing? does the canister trap gas so it doesnt starv when cornering? is there a one way valve or somthing that lets it fill?
