Unusual wear on '12 sport seats
We've had the car since May and have 4000 miles on it and we noticed about a month ago the side lower bolster was fraying which is rediculously early for this to even be happening considering the roughest clothing that touches it is denim. Any body else having issues with this?
![]() ![]() ![]() Looking into a warranty claim but since these seats seem to stain easily we already had seat covers on order and they arrived a few days ago. Not as nice as some but they fit snug and actually give a layer of padding comfort to the sport seats and alot of protection. They even included a center console cover but I'm going to ditch it.

$150 shipped;it's a cheaper version of the pricey neoprene versions but the quality appears very good with solid stitching and it better be since some of the fit is tight especially on the headrest covers.

Yes,they are setup for the side air bags.
The red is a bit darker in person and it woiuld match the race red better but they still work well with the theme.

That's a common place for seats to wear, but it does seem a little soon for them to start wearing. What side do you carry your wallet? Those covers do look good with the Race Red.

Sorry to hear about the wear, I don't think that should happen that soon. I would fight the dealer on that. The seat covers do look awesome, but I don't think a brand-new car should have seat-covers, unless you are protecting it for re-sale value.

dont have the sport but on my se ive noticed the same thing. i dont wear my wallet but ive noticed the way the seat is positioned my thigh and butt always end up hitting the seat before i actually sit. but was thinking about getting seat covers either way cuz the seats do stain fairly easily.

Ron, I noticed the same on my parents' 2012 Mazda 3. they have about the same entry angle so I wonder if that has something to do with it. think of the Toyota trucks with their seat wear.
