That spool time is just insane to produce peak torque around 2K RPM. I've never even seen a dyno off idle!
I'd like to know Ford's secret to this.. I guess just a crazy-small turbo.

Average torque and hp over the usuable rpm band is what wins races. Torque means nothing by itself, you also need rpm.

"HP sells cars, Tq wins races"

I definitely like that its putting out as much tq as it is. I'd like to see what the roush version puts down, if i were to get one thats probably what i'd get since i've always liked the whine of a supercharger. And what better way to own two boosted foci than to hav one thats turbo'd and one supercharged

That call goes to VM, just sayin'....

I wonder how much headroom this turbo has? A typical Stage 2 bolt on might be too much for a small turbo that already has an overboost feature.

The main application for the 2.0L EcoBoost motor is in a SUV (where torque is important). The ST, Escape, Edge, and Explorer are all rated at 270 ft/lbs torque.
