As promised, I snapped a few shots at the park after some baseball practice with the kids. I didn't get the extra coats of Plastidip on the hood yet, though.

Blah. Trying to lay an even remotely even coat of Plastidip on my hood seems impossible, and I'm wasting money in trying. Of course, a rain halfway through and a sudden leak in my cover didn't help. I think it's a lost cause for now, probably just going to strip off the Plastidip and reattach the scoop until I can get a new hood. So frustrating...

When I dipped my hood, I thought I layed it on thick - with the rattlecan stuff, but it came out uneven. It's hard to get that stuff right unless you shoot it out of a paint gun. Your hood came out a lot better than mine.

Well, the Plastidip is off, and the scoop is back on. I also learned that the 3M tape I bought isn't strong enough to bond the front corners of the scoop to the curvature of the hood (which, annoyingly, was one of the driving factors in its initial removal). A coworker suggest epoxy, but I'm leery of potentially ruining the scoop in case I should ever want to sell it.

I probably got the wrong level of adhesion or something. What kind of tape is usually recommended for exterior part adhesion, like sideskirts and wings?

Just finished washing and waxing, and while I have to conserve enough Plastidip to redo my right-rear wheel (had to replace the tire after a nail got it), I decided to give the fender a little bling.





You can see that the tint in the back is bubbled; it was like that when I bought the car. I'm assuming it's the rear defroster stripes that cause the problem, but that can be worked around, right?


I need to replace the passenger fog lamp. The other lamp is crystal clear, but the passenger-side lamp is pitted and foggy.
