UPDATE2: I've gotten the DC Power jack and everything repaired through Best Buy on this laptop so it is in 100% working order along with having a ~9month warranty left on it. It also has Windows 7 installed by the manufacturer from the repair process so you know it is legitimate.

UPDATE: I've talked with Best Buy and the extended warranty on the laptop is transferable so you will also receive the 9 months left on it when you purchase the laptop.

does it come with the windows installation CD? WIFI capable? HDMI? USB? ethernet? air card slot? SD card slot? these details would be nice as well as more details. also i seem to remember that it is frowned upon to link to ebay for a posting. your post should follow standard format which is laid out in the BST rules and regs. just letting you know so you dont get hollered at. im interested too btw but i definitely need much much more info before i go anywhere near it.

EDIT: Also, comes with an SD card slot on the front. No, Windows CD as it did not come with it but it'll have a fresh installation of Windows Home Premium on it since the license sticker is still there.

eh that is a problem. im pretty sure all new computers come with an installation disk and if that computer has a legitimate copy of windows then you can contact ASUS and they will send you recovery disks that will restore that laptop to its brand new out of box state with all the software that it originally had on it when it was bought brand new. if you can do this and include those disks ill pay $400 shipped for the laptop. it should only cost $5-$15 for the disks direct from ASUS and you should be able to do it all online.

forgive my paranoia but ive been burned twice now with laptops ive bought over the internet that had pirated copies of windows and you can get in alot of trouble now for that.

It is very easy to get the ASUS disk's, Ive done it last year for one of my laptops that I was selling.... I ended up getting all the Disc's needed for $5 shipped

just told me asus said $50 for the disk. ima gonna pass because that is sounding very much like BS. you can get a new copy of 7 for $100 so why is asus going to charge $50 for a copy of what you already paid for with the computer in the first place. sorry mate nice try but the more i think about it the more dodgy it sounds.

You can see for yourself here that Asus charges $50. Sorry you think this isn't a legit laptop but you can look at my Buy-Sell-Trade rating on here and my ebay feedback (over 900 transactions with 100% feedback) to know that this isn't BS. You can also check around and see that Asus no longer bundles the recovery CDs with their laptops.

EDIT: And please don't threadcrap considering I'm listing every possible issue with the laptop out there for any interested parties.

yes i see that now. give me a pass on the diarrhea of the mouth last night. i was on a bunch of cold meds that made me wonky as hell and i didnt bother to try my search-fu before spewing off at the mouth. this is looking like a very good deal but i still have a few more questions that i think would be best to be answered on here rather than via pm because if for some reason i dont buy this then im sure the info would be nice to know for whomever does.

how is the best buy warranty transferable? how would that work? i can hit best buy with a rock from my back porch. ive never once messed with best buy warranties and have not got a clue there. would i personally take it to best buy and say that i am you? i doubt that would fly. i just want to get everything strait before i make a play for this thing, i dont want it to bite me in the ass.
