new filter

so i've been reading around here and elsewhere on the interwebs, and I have a few questions still about adding a cone filter to my stock setup. all i have to do is remove the filter and air box, and then add on a say spectre cone filter, correct? I plan to use the box then as a heat shield of sorts, but i just wanted to make sure that this plan works.

Yea , thats about it , you can get some real cheap tubes at auto zone along with the spectre filter , id suggest a better filter tho

Your plan to use the box as a heat shield will not work. The top box will not fit over the filter, just the bottom will
