If it's an automatic, you don't want to tow it with the drive axles (front wheels) on the ground, use a car dolly.
Also, it's just much safer all around to get a tow truck rather than tow a car with all four wheels on the ground, even with a MTX trans. |

^^I'm sure you mean Off the ground. Automatics need car dolly's to be pulled or you will ruin the transmissions. Cars with manual transmissions can be pulled no problem.

I said "don't want to" tow with wheels on ground.
You can pull a MTX car without damaging it, if everything goes right. It's not legal really, because you can't ride in a towed vehicle and somebody needs to be in the towed car to steer and mash the un-assisted brakes. |

I know mtx can be pulled without damage to the tranny. but I recall old auto trans. cars burning up clutches if the car was hauled with someone driving it of course, if all wheels are on the ground.
finding out the tranny was good and I end up causing damage if I can prevent it is not acceptable for me. I might call a tow, and be on the safer side. thanks

Do you have an insurance policy with towing? Most have it now days... or a friend with AAA towing service? They will tow anything as long as the friend is there with his AAA card. And usually their is no difference in charge for a flat bed, just usually less of them so takes longer to get to you.
