Black interior?

Has anybody on here seen an interior painted very dark, black even? I'm growing a little tired of the grey dashboard and I was wondering how a black one would look. I'm apprehensive as it might end up looking too plasticky or glossy, which is why I thought I'd pose the question here.

I'd say it depends on the gloss of the paint. Semi gloss/ flat or gloss. I say try spraying some on a similar material. My interior is black & if I use a hi gloss protectant, like armorall it will have a hi gloss to it.

I have thought about doing the same thing (that gray is just boring to look at), if you do it I wanna see pics!

use vinyl and fabric paint. I did it awhile ago.

^^^Which did you use on the plastic dash? Vinyl should work for smooth parts like around the hvac controls but I don't think it will stick to the textured dash. Also how does fabric paint hold up to wear?

Blacked mine out years ago.Not very good photos sorry.
Black paint on he pillars and micro suede headliner.

Isn't there a stock black dash that can be swapped? That'd be my route

actually yeah there is. I came across a regular zx3 with one but it had glass all over it so I didnt pull it.

I didn't do the dash... but I did do the carpet, door panels and glove box(es) along with the console. I did not use clear or prep very well.

it held up pretty well. the armrest and door handle got a little worn. I even did my seats for the hell of it. they didn't fade too often and each time they faded less.

if I do it again... semi gloss will be used along with clear coat on the hard plastic and the vinyl paint on, well, the vinyl.
