It moves, straight in and out, momentary pushbutton style. NOT rocker style.

The Euro Focus has this as well.

So either Ford finds it cheaper to use parts from everywhere, or this is part of the lane departure system that the Focus can be had with over there, maybe the button that activates it?

Most likely lane departure by the looks of it.

Interesting they have a dedicated button for it... Are you supposed to press it when you're falling asleep or something?

Yep, that is the stalk I have. They have replaced the turn signal switch in an effort to fix the cruise control. I wonder if the whole stalk and all is replaced when they do this? Could have put wrong part on it?

Isn't that the button that activates the bezel mounted RPG's (on those vehicles so equipped) ?
