Our ST vs Euro ST

We just went to look at a Tangerine Scream ST at our local dealership. I started investigating when I got home a few items that sparked my interest. What's the little storage area next to the shifter for? What if any are the differences between the US Focus ST and the Euro ST...

-No Wagon (everybody knows this)
-No option for red calipers (Euro does)
-No option for different color wheels (Euro does)
-No option for Recaro rear seat (Euro does)
-No option for red seat inserts (Euro does)
-With the full leather seats the console is different which relocates the e-brake lever forward and changes the position of the cup holders.

Correct me if I missed/messed something. Just a fun FYI!

i think a 2dr st would be in the making beofre a wagon
dont care much for red calipers specaily if it would match the car
dont like the wheels much anyways so a different color wouldnt help that
red insterts would help with their sales most likely but not a whole lot and they do have to be cost effective so maybe they based it upon what color seat insets where selling best in other cars.



does the full leather realy relocate the e-brake and cup holders? if so by how much do they move and do they move to where they are more of in the way or more usable?

ST1 Euro spec has cloth Recaro`s and the centre consol is same as the ST3 in USA, except the hand brake in Euro spec ST is leather.

The ST3 Euro spec Recaro front seats have an extender function of the seat cushion, front panel.
Euro ST has LED tail lamps. A few other differences, plus a bunch of tech options.

see, now i thought ford said the same car euro gets is the same car we get?

and they are making an electric hatch right? so we could just buy a pair of the tails off of an electric.

but why should we have to buy led tail lights if ford said that the euro spec and us spec st are the exact same?

looking at the euro spec the set up inside for the center console is like my sport...so i think you guys are the "special" ones in the US who get a different layout...

i wouldnt call us the specail ones. i mean, why would ford make more then 1 center console design? it would only cost them more to design them and produce them. same goes for the tail lights, it would cost them more for the design and production.

also if ford says they are the same and exactly what euro gets us gets but then they turn around and give us a different center console, no led tails, and no red seat inserts it would only be further hurting their sales.
not only that but simply offering the nice or more functional center console and the led tails as a stock item would be keeping them of their word and they would only have to produce the 1 design meaning less fabrication and less spent on producing molds for the different designs.

The Focus Electric still shows a taillight harness (albeit different than the standard focus/ST) with 2- 3157 bulbs, 1- 3757 bulb and 1- 921 bulbs per tailight but I agree the housing is a different part number and more expensive than the standard Focus. What do you think will be LED if it still has all the standard bulbs?

2012 - 2013 Electrics have different tail lights assemblies (as far as P/N is concerned, similarly priced MSRP around 280-330 each) but the harness and bulbs are the same. This pic shows a largely stock tail light assembly but it is $150 more than a standard hatch taillight. As rare as the Electrics are outside of big cities I'd like to know what the difference is

If you grab a dealer brochure, it shows them much better than those pictures. They do take standard bulbs in the usual locations as you pointed out, but there are two horizontal LED strips in each light, located underneath the clear portion (reverse/turn).
