Svt Head Vs. Zetec Stock?
I wanna know if i should spend my time looking for an svt head
or if i should cut my losses and have and rebuild my zetec head? is the svt head really different in that aspect maybe ported out more and tuned? If thats the case i could just do that to my Zetec head |

Do you mean a ford racing head?
I am not exactly sure of the minor differences but I am 99% sure you dont want the SVT head. The head was set up with VCT on the intake port which you would then have to disable. the time and effort in that it would be better to get the stock head with a valve job, larger valves, new springs, and a slight decking.

no i just read through some other posting and guys were talking about the svt head swap.
I was curious as to the numbers with it and yada yada but i would be very interested in a ford racing head!!! i just looked on ford racings web page and didnt find anything?!? do you know of one out there? if not yea i was thinking about just porting the head and doing the valves and springs :) also this may sound dumb but i have the 2002 zx3 2.0 zetec and was looking online for a new cold air, i came across the very popular VOLANT, and another one called PIPERCROSS, id go with the PIPERCROSS just dont know if it will mach up to mine or not. The description said "Focus Mk1 (Not ST170 OR RS)" not really sure what that all means :X |

The ST170 is the euro SVT, the RS is the euro bad mamajamma.

maybe SVT Header Swap?
Pipercross is a very good cold air intake, but not very popular, if you can find one, GREAT, if not, the Volant is more popular and more common.

Ford racing use to make many things for the Zetec... since its a motor that has been discontinued for the last 7 some years they have slowly been reducing their inventory and just selling out of their stock with out replenishing. That's what happened with the Ford Racing SVT Header that came with an EGR bung. They no longer sell it so you have to find a used one or make one. Same with the Ford Racing Head. Have to find it used.
Their are other sponsors of this site that also offer head's worked to various levels.
