Lol i'm young as well. I guess between my parents, well my dad races late model cars on the dirt track so I've got my heavy for from him. Been driving a clutch since I was 8 lol.

Man that's overkill.. with oil these days you can go 5k without a change on Dino oil and 10k on synthetic.. I'm a mechanic and I'm telling you your wasting perfectly fine oil. Changing your oil that early has no benefits.

i use generic oil. my oil light turns on around, well, 3000 miles. so i'm playing it safe. and i'll do maintenance how i want. i don't run synthetic yet, when i do, it'll be a different story.

Hey Tim, just trying to help your wallet stay a little fatter. Of course you can do your maintenance the way you want, just trying to point it out.. (been a mechanic for over 15 years) No disrespect. Its just proven cars don't need an oil change every 3k and its just a marketing thing, that's all. Oil light comes on?! Man that means you have SUPER DANGEROUSLY low oil pressure or the oil pressure sensing unit is crapping out. By no means does the focus oil light come on when your oil needs changing.. Anyways nice euro grilles. Imo theyre always the way to go. God knows I love my upper/lower grilles.

well that's iirc... one of the last times on my way home to change it, it popped on. maybe i just lost track of the correct mileage.
but i'm still using generic. i'm going to go to synthetic soon and use my mystery oil to (hopefully) clean out my lines and whatnot. it worked a little for my gas.

If that light ever pops on I'd suggest pulling over asap. If that light emits, 3/5 times the engine is in such extreme danger that it poops its way out..

Synthetic doesn't do much for mileage, lighter viscosity does more but were talking 1-2% gains in fuel economy.. its better however for starts in the winter and going the distance of 7.5k-10k on oil changes

Yeah, I must really do overkill. I change my synthetic between 3k and 4k. Lol

I'm more for peace of mind anyways.
