key word: rattle. This is a suspenion "clunk". So maybe that's what it was for you. For the rest of us who's front end feels disconnected from the road, that it what we are talking about.. Not something rattling around in the engine bay.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I feared... "so far" the front driver side fix has held strong (~1500 miles if I recall right). I just fear when/if I can get the passenger side clunk fixed that it all might just come back...

Yes I am well aware most people here are talking about a clunk, but a few people have been posting about a rattle. If you have this rattle it does NOT sound like it is coming from the engine bay at all. It sounds like the suspension and this is why I thought it was related to this issue for so long.

I guess I'll just ignore my clunky ride for now if there is no solution. :(

Dealership just called, they said that 2 new models on the lot had the same clunking sound so using the scientific method they deduced that it must be normal. They said I had the parts switched out already in April and that the new TSB was identical. Can anyone attest to that?

Meanwhile, my car just went up on Craigslist today :)

Took my car in today for an oil change, asked about this new TSB since my car has been doing it for a while. So far they've replaced the end-links twice but that never solved the issue.

Long story short, they've now ordered all sorts of parts to replace pretty much the entire front suspension on my car next week or so :p
So we'll see how that goes. Also ordered a Titanium badge off an Escape. Purty.

Been waiting to hear about that. If everything works for you, I'll be doing the same thing myself.

Just an FYI, the ST rear shocks will not work on our cars. The rear spindle/LCA/sway setup is totally different; this requires different shock mounting points. The Ford dealer I picked my bearings up from yesterday had a yellow ST2 in stock, and I took the opportunity to look at the suspension just for verification purposes.

The ST shocks actually end up being ~7-8 inches shorter than needed, since the lower mounting point is at the top of the rear spindle, instead of the bottom.

However, the front ST struts look to bolt right in with no issues, so I'll keep everyone updated on that. Since the rears won't fit, I did order a pair of Koni shocks for the rear in 2010+ Mazdaspeed3 fitment (#8040-1353SPORT). I was looking at Bilsteins, but the fact that I can adjust the Konis to [hopefully] work with the ST dampers is a big plus.

We'll see how it goes.
