Full SVT Exhaust swap

Finally got a frigging answer from the local DPS on what's legal on exhaust here. I can move to the exhaust from any model Zetec Focus --so long as I keep the 02s, get a new cat keep the EGR yada yada. Obviously I'm taking that as a green light to do a FULL exhaust swap with an SVT.

I'd like some ideas about what to do that'll produce the results I'm looking for:

SVT header --used vs new?
SVT flexpipe --used vs new?
SVT cat (the CFM ones look solid --has to pass emissions)
EGR
O2s --which are the best?
I'm getting a new oil dipstick and tube since I don't think mine would survive being bent.

Anything else?

As for a catback...

I want a catback that will get performance, but I don't want it to be noisy or look flashy. Bland but quick and fun --that's the whole point of this car.

your list looks good, just add a new power steering line as well if you dont want to bend your old one, and the oil dipstick tube needs to be replaced with an SVT the stock zetec wont work.

as for new vs used, of course new parks are great, but it really comes down to price and what you can afford and or willing to spend.

I think the shop that is putting in my Getrag swap as we speak is also doing my power steering line, but I'm not sure.

What about SVT catbacks?

Is the Ford racing SVT header still around --the one that connects to a Zetec EGR?

Depends on the county jurisdiction. Texas has stages of emissions counties if I recall correctly.

Currently, I live in Tarrant county where the testing is effectively "look for CEL."

However, I'm about to enter law school and that means two things:

#1 I'm moving and I don't know where.
#2 There is no way in Hell I'm going to risk my career by playing fast and loose with any laws. If I were for some reason to get caught with an EGR-delete, or cat-delete that would prevent me from taking the bar exam.

well...EGR sucks and the CAT does more for emissions anyway.

Check the BST forum for one, or have an exhaust shop weld up a bung for the EGR

With going into law you definitely have to play it straight. Gotta keep cat and egr. Svt headers are usually pretty easy to find. They pop up on the bst forums pretty often. You can have a shop weld on a egr bung pretty cheaply.

Catback exhaust just get a trubendz 2.5". You can even have a resonator added in and still be under $400 for brand new. And it is been shown to flow/make power just as good as any other exhaust!
