ROTM is up!! You all know what to do! (at-least vote, doesn't have to be me!)

-----Update-----
Friday I put the uTB(ultra throttle-body) on the car, and put the Volant intake tube on. Really added a hell of a lotta responsiveness and a atleast two -three horses.

The old man and I went to FocusXtreme's end of summer g2g Saturday. It was pretty epic!

Before the g2g, I went and washed my car since it looked like the rain would hold out for a while.... well.... I was wrong lmao. Once I got to Caleb's house it started to rain.

The food was great(Emily's hamburger queso!!!), the weather not so great; but as always with FX it was a ton of fun.

Me helping Tiffany out of the rain with an uber sexy pink VS umbrella lol.

Getting Caleb's front bumper off and measuring things with ductape due to a lack of measurement tools until Tiffany(who is prepared for anything) just so happened to have one in her Mazda's magical trunk full of junk (hey that rhymes!! ).

A few days before the meet me and Caleb(UnbridledCarnage) passed around the idea of a light bar for his focus, after seeing the Rally-Innovations bar (which is just a glorified metal tube with a chrome piece of metal on the bottom) and the redonkulous price-tag of $250 we instantly jumped to the idea of making one ourselves.

Dustin(Disciplerocks) brought his pipe bender, I brought the welder, and Caleb brought the pipe! After taking a few cheap measurements Dustin got to bending the bar and checking where everything had to go. Next I was up to weld the plates onto the bar so Caleb could drill out the crash bar and attach the bar with some self-tapping screws. We ended up getting everything done (as far as getting the bar on) by at-least 10 having to do only one WallMart trip!

In the end, I went home with some old-school WingsWest side-skirts form our fearless leader UnbridledCarnage as payment for helping him out, I'll grab a picture of them when I get a chance.

Pictures:

Jeremy(NX_Focus) was choc-full of information as ever; here you see him pointing out to Tiffany how the travel on her clutch pedal was adjustable and how awesome it was.

After welding the plates on the bar (burned a small hole in my new Ken Block DCs ).

Caleb putting holes in the bar to mount the lights.

Tiffany giving moral support from the sidelines while the men do-wok!

Got tired of trying to drill the crashbar so we went ahead and just welded the sucker onto the crashbar. At this point I kinda feel like we may have missed a step??

Tiffany giving more moral support....Via Facebook lol

It works!!

Hella-Bright!!

After forcing the bumper over the lights and grille, it is completed!!

Thanks a ton Caleb and Emily for the food and having all of us over!! it was a great meet!

We would have, but it was easier to fit the bumper over the lights and bar the way they were pointing up like that. Also I think Caleb also wanted to be able to run a front license plate down the road at some point.

I gave you my vote man! Gotta support my fellow sedan owner :P also, how's the ride quality on the AGX shocks? I was actually looking at the exact same setup - frpp springs, agx shocks. Or possibly koni shocks. I wanted to hear from someone with the agx setup first though.

Thanks for the vote!

The ride quality is the best I've had so-far when running on FRPP springs. Being as the FRPP springs are the softest of the perforance springs, the AGX shocks really make up for how soft the springs are and keep it smooth (for a lowered car that is lol).

If you look at the spring rates for the FRPP springs and compare them to the AGX's specs, you will see that the AGX shocks can be on a maximum drop of 1.5" as per the manufacturers specs, but in reality they are good to 1.75" (at least that's as far as I've run with).

The only downside to the AGX kit is where the adjuster is on the rear shocks. It's placed on the bottom of the shock and depending on how you mount it(facing inwards or outwards) it's a bit of a hassle to adjust. You can adjust it while the car is on the ground, but it's a bit of a pain to do with the FRPP springs (how low they make the car) as you can't really see what the adjuster number is when laying down and reaching your hand under to adjust it unless you've memorized which way the dial needs to be turned and what setting you left it on. You're honestly better off jacking the rear up and adjusting the shocks that way.

Picture:

Other than the rear being hard to adjust they're great shocks, and the best I've ever used on my car with the FRPP springs by far! Definitely going to go with AGX again when I need to replace my shocks/struts in the future (given that I'm still rock'in the FRPP kit)!

~~~~~~Update~~~~~~
Participated in a few tests with the Psychology department over the past few weeks and got a nice amount of $$ for a college student!!
Ordered a few wonderful things for Anya including a Short-throw shifter and some winter wheels. Going to/have traded disciplerocks my wood-grain euro bezel for some nice interior pieces. That I'll get at the next local meet or whenever he's in town.
So I'm in the process of getting a euro plate for Anya and I've been throwing around some names in my mind for the past couple months. Haven't decided on a website to go with but I know what color iand style I generally wanna go with.
I'm thinking of using "customeuropeanplates.com" which has a good selection of colors and options but only goes up to 10 letters on their plates . Also their plates cost $45 and come with a free universal frame.
The style I'm gonna go for is up in the air not sure if I want to go with gold text and black background (matte black or gloss) or if I want to go with chrome text and black background.
A few examples of what colors and the combos I'm considering:
Standard Style with Gold text and Matte Black background
German EEC style with Gold text and Gloss Black background
Standard style Chrome text and Matte Black background
Standard style Chrome text and Gloss Black background.
Here are the names I've come up with so-far:
SHCS
SLCS
SHCWHT
SPI-KS
NTNADI
SL&PROD
SHC-STYLE
SEEING RED
SPI-CS
MPEDKILR
I'm waffling around between "SPIKS," "SHCS," "SEEING RED," "NTNADI," and "SL&PROD." SHCS is screaming to me but I'm really not all that sure.
I'm really feelin' the matte black and chrome ( partially because I don't wanna copy Owen's "SEXDAN" euro plate with the black and gold.)
Any thoughts or suggestions on names?
I'm liking "NTNADI" hehehe :P I think "NTVW" would be a bit more fitting since its usually the GTI's or Jettas with those kinds of plate... At least around where I live.
Here's my euro plate... Its an actual Dutch plate from the 70's. It was on my parent's Opel GT while they were over there
And good info on the shocks! I'm really torn now though, because I found the Eibach pro kit for like 450 with springs... stinkin cheap... http://amzn.to/UFN1ju
I like this one:
SHC-STYLE
It really fits your car, I would just make the text red.
I also have the same Agx's that you got. I love the ride, and yes there is no other way to adjust besides jacking up the rear
You do have the cleanest SPI around - wait, you are in my top 5 favorite sedans of all(sorry the Sexdan is pure SEX)!
May the best Focus win ROTM!
