Looks like fun. I would pay that to run the track for sure.

yeah though the $200 is cheap, the $2200 on brakes is not.

What's it all mean? Not sure. Just some interesting cross fits of parts perhaps. Or maybe there's some cross fit of more parts from the Cobalt than we think.

I agree very much with the suggestion of affordable name brand brake fluid here. There's no performance gains in "high end" fluid folks. Just a more stable fluid in high temps- temps you'll seldom if ever reach on a daily driver. While it won't hurt to use it the down side is that these fluids have a shorter pot life than the stock stuff you have now. Meaning if you put in ubar 650f fluid it's great for the first couple days or week, then its boiling point drops due to moisture and becomes potentially less stable than if you'd just put in a more generic DOT3 fluid.
LOL

More Off Topic

08, G8 base car (the v6) has those 11.7 inch rotors and the hat offset and hub diameter I dont' think match at all. The OD reference is probably more coincidence than anything.

09 GT model has the 12.6 front rotors. Wheels and hubs from the camaro's are an the G8. The Camaro platform is actually mostly Zeta from the Commodore. Thus we have the same transmission, mounts, engines (mostly) rear differential, etc etc. Its about 35% common.

GXP models have slightly smaller Brembo's than the Camaro, however you can fit Brembo's off a CTS-V (they new model). G8 share a little commonality with the CTS-V as well.

FYI.

Have you checked out TCE's using Wilwood parts?

And while argument for such items being of value the same goes for a more efficient brake system- larger parts simply function in a lower duty cycle. Will you see/feel it driving to the corner market? Probably not. Nor would you feel 2hp of CAI either.

Customizing a car is a personal thing that buyers to to their own taste. Obviously I work one end of a vast market, but suggesting that someone doesn't "need" this is no different than saying the same for countless other items. Need and want are often two different things is all.

You don't "need" a Ford Focus....you could drive a Camry. But you bought a Focus by choice. So I've always felt buying aftermarket parts is no different.

I just jumped into this thread cause you guys were talking 'bout brakes & BBK's. I was looking to upgrade my 10'' rear disc's w/ at least a set of svt's 11'' ones. As you know ford discountined svt caliber bracket to place the caliper up .05'' to clear the bigger 11'' rotors. My bad I should of grabbed a set yrs ago, but I didn't. I'd love to do the Baer kit=12'' rotors, but they discountined them. So I was looking at Todd's kit, that uses Wilwood rotors & has a bracket that places the caliber up to clear his 11.75'' rotors. By the way I already have the Baer track kit up front, upgraded from svt's front kit yrs ago.

Good for 1 or 2 hard stops then they fade. How 'bout the rest of the car? There is always room for improvements, upgrades & mods.
