Switching to automatic climate control system

I was searching ebay and found a used automatic climate control module for $100. Does anyone know if it would be a simple plug and play for swapping the base climate to auto climate control? The plugs look different. I wonder how in depth a full swap would be.

An issue I see is that the the gold plastic around the automatic climate control would not match the silver.

The dual auto temperature control system (DATC) is substantially different than the manual system (EMTC). There are many additional sensors in the system for control and many different actuators for distribution in the DATC that aren't present in the EMTC system.

This goes back to the old saying: Anything is possible in a car if your pockets are deep enough. Yes, you can get it to work, but you will dump months of time and hundreds of dollars into getting it to work. In the end it will not be worth it.

If you want auto climate control, get a passenger to control it for you. You can use voice control for those too!

I agree! I am okay with my EMTC once i upgraded the knobs. No need in the auto climate control, just trying to see if it was possible.

What he said!!!

It can be done (at least on a Gen I Focus), but the only person I ever heard of that pulled it off didn't recommend it to others (after a long weekend and a broken windshield ...)
