Possible air filter swap?
I recently bought an '07 2-door SES with a 2.0 Duratec. I'm very pleased with the car and look forward to having it for a long time. In that regard I have a question for the collective wisdom of the group. I don't look forward to having to pay $400 for a new air filter sometime in the future. I would prefer to keep everything stock so I'm not looking at any CAI or similar systems. According to what I've read, the 2008 Duratec has an air filter system that uses a replaceable paper filter. My questions is .. can the filter box and piping from an '08 be used in a '07 ? I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

You only have the choices you mention, and the stealth using OEM parts you have and reconfigure to use a after market filter..
