15.7 sec stock. I've owned two. 2 of my best friends and boosted and not hitting 13s. Not bashing on you or anything but it's simply not feasible

About what I expected, but I'm also slightly disappointed as well. The standard benchmark competitor for the ST is the GTI, and here's Car and Driver's test numbers for a DSG (granted, not a straight comparison) GTI:

C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 6.0 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 16.6 sec
Zero to 120 mph: 28.3 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 6.8 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 14.7 sec @ 95 mph

Of course we'll need to see C&D's actual numbers for the ST, as well as their comparo, which they promised will be coming soon.

In any case, the ST is no straight line monster, and was never intended to be, just like the SVT before it. It's a great handling, comfortable, and practical daily driver, with enough power to keep it fun.

I would suggest removing this post entirely. You were wrong and Kyle called you out on it, that doesn't make you or him a bad person. What's really wrong with this site is that it took so long for someone to call you out on your outlandish statement.

Lol.

The DSG is quicker than the manual GTI too. Most manuals are about 2 tenths slower than the DSG in the 1/4.

I believe the factory 1/4 mile times for the standard transmission GTI are like 15.0-15.1? Don't quote me on that but iirc the DSG is suppose to be quicker at the drag racing.

Buddy of mine had a Boss429, ran 14.50's with stock tires - threw on a pair of slicks one day and it ran in the 12.80's with an amateur driver. These cars (Hemi/Boss/Bowties/Cobra Jets) were animals, problem was getting the power to the pavement. . .

Yep, I noted that it was a DSG in my post. Not sure if C&D has times for a manual GTI, I didn't look too hard. But in any case, lining up an ST and a DSG GTI will result in a very close race, even with the power advantage that the ST has.

I also would like to reserve judgement until C&D properly tests an ST. They always seem to get good 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, better than most car mags anyway.

I'm going to throw myself on the mercy of the court and declare my asshattery... Sorry for getting worked up...

Checked with the old roommate after getting heated. I was wrong. She remembers said day but my old age must have confused things. She ran in another guys MS6 and ran a best 14.1. Her best slip in the SVTF was 15.5 that day. She never got to run the Mustang but it was good for 11's according to the previous owner.

Please let us move on from this and let it die.

Thanks for admitting it, I'd like to see what an ST does without smoking out street tires, which definitely hurt it a little. I bet that car could get to 14.2 with the right driver on a good night.
