Those are considered coilovers and Ground control is a very reputable company. They convert just about any shock/strut to coil over use. Ground Control uses some serious spring rates so you want to use a serious shock/strut with their conversion kits.

that is how it was done back in the day. still works pretty well.

It says in the little options box after you put the focus into in, that the kit works with stock shocks and koni shocks.

I can assure you that stock shocks with the GC Focus kit (400+ lb/in spring rates) will not last very long at all (we're talking as short as a few days or weeks). Stock shocks can not dampen those kind of spring rates and will be easily overpowered.
