i have the fswerks race exhaust, its pretty loud and sounds good, it gets rid of one of the cats on our car, youd need a header to get rid of the other one if you wanna run no cats

I had something similar. Its at about 45mph and in 4th gear (mines an automatic SES) If I give it more gas, it goes away. What the Steeda Tech told me was that the computer cannot decide whether to shift or not. Almost like the CAI changed the shift points in the computer due to more air being dumped in. Ford tech told me that it shouldnt hurt the car and if it continues, put the OEM air box back in. I kept the steeda CAI in and just know to keep accelerating past 45, to about 50, and I never have to deal with it. How do you like you're CAI? I'm getting 41mpg on the interstate, and around 31 around town.

i love my cai. my mpg jumped to an easy average of 38 on occasion i get over 40 gotten 43 before. thats the same time mine starts bucking around 45mph it does it when it shifts into overdrive. it does act like the trans is unsure whether to shift or not, but what confuses me is people who have the same setup with no problems?? tonight i was trying to duplicate the problem and some times it would act perfect, just like it should right when it started bogging down the trans would downshift.. and other times it would start bucking back and forth.

I have the same issue with my Airaid CAI. I tried the battery disconnect but to no avail. I just push the pedal enough to make it shift when going up a steep hill or try to keep it around 50 and above.

I may actually be experiencing this afterall. When I see a hill I take it out of overdrive, it helps, holds the gear longer. However... I've also felt a weird hesitation at times, and I think this might be it. I'd describe it as an, odd sounding, lag in response. It's trying to accelerate while the rpms are at/around 1400, but it won't gear down.

I think it's time to get a tune - I'm gonna have to go for it.

Mine was doing that with a stock airbox. Changed the spark plugs and it stopped doing it all together.
