Why do manufacturers keep putting buttons instead of traditional keyed ignitions in cars? The average moron obviously can't figure out in an emergency how to shut the car off, what the hell is wrong with a good old key? Any idiot knows how to work a key.

As for manuals getting stuck throttles, why not? Mine got stuck on my SVT. I didn't want to grenade my engine bouncing off the rev limiter, but thankfully it was like 2am and traffic was light on the freeway. I shifted to neutral and turned the key off, and coasted to the shoulder.

Well, if it got stuck on a floor mat it could work...

The linkage on my old 66 Mustang was mechanical, and could get stuck against the carb is you floored it hard enough. Pulling either got it free or popped the ball joint. But usually I would just shift to N and turn the key. (no power steering)
