And with the brand previously mentioned, it is a contender for dynamat and second skin at a fraction of the price

^Very true. Unless you are getting "D"Mat at cost(or free)I'd never use it.

That is the 80 mil , It all comes down to how much you want to cover when purchasing the amount . Truthfully, i would go 60 mil and go with the larger surface area

dynamat isnt cheap by anymeans and i have to completely agree with you.

i use dynamat but i also only pay 5-10%over cost depending on how much i buy at a time. don't pay shipping either and living in Alaska and saving on shipping is a huge money saver.

if i could get the same price or cheaper on something else with free shipping i would be all in for it.

Thats what i was thinking too, better to cover the most amount of area at a cheaper cost. I recently picked up a gliding rocking chair and just by having that in the car made abig difference in the sound that carried through the car from just having bare metal every where. And with a kid on the way, i dont want to make her deaf from my car. Besides if i have left overs i can use it around the areas the bring in the most sound. What spray foam would you suggest also to fill in other hole that the mat cant be put at a cheap cost?

For a single layer? Is this going to be for the audio aspect? Or to quiet things down?

my guess would be to quiet things down from outside in, but some people go crazy with this stuff so idk lol. for audio though, its going to cost more then you think. i takes a lot to cover the whole inside
