I am sorry to burst you bubble, but Harleys do not leak oil, umm, since like the 80's(AMF days). I have one, as well as 3 of my friends ranging from a 2002 up to a 2010, and none of them leak a drop.

But I have to agree on the Focus leaking........it just shouldn't, and is not normal.

I've often wondered if these dealers don't get reimbursed enough by Ford to make it worth their time.

What else do they do with their time then? I thought the vast majority of their business was warranty work? Most people whose cars are out of warranty don't take them to a dealer for repairs. I can see some shops avoiding certain high-risk jobs though.

Maybe certain things aren't worth it?

Wonder if this will start to become more common. Manufacturers getting out of certain warranty jobs by making reimbursements so low no dealer will do them.

I noticed this same leak on my SEL when peforming the first oil change. I took it to the dealership for them to check and was also told it was excess lubricant seeping out from the assembly of the car. I simply told them okay and that I would keep an eye on it. I did not notice anything seeping out when I did my last oil change, which would be its fourth oil change as I have about 28K miles on my car already.

That dealer, or at least it's mechanical department, should feel ashamed, if nothing else more pragmatic. Is there no ethics, no justice, no fairness, no anything anymore?

Apparently you haven't read TSB 11-12-13.

I was aware of that TSB (Automatic Transmission Fluid leak), but, can't find the actual TSB to read it. Please post it up for everyone, especially if you're referencing it in a response, thank you. (I know, your response wasn't directed at me, I'm curious as well is all)

I found this info for you from this thread.

Remove trans and install new input shaft seals and new dual clutch. Perfrom adaptive learning and reroad test operation 111213A. Time 6.5 HRS

The parts to fix included:

2 seal assemblies
Clutch assembly/dual clutch packs
Various nuts and bearings

So far so good. The car is also getting better MPGs, but its probably to know for sure.
I also discovered this TSB list thread while searching.
