has anyone experienced their ipod "skipping"?

I agree, my 2 main complaints for this car: use of Microsoft and lack of "cubbies" lol there should at least be a key fob cubby for those of us with push-start/intelligent access.

There technically is a place to put the fob, but its meant for emergency use only, remove the cover where the ignition barrel would be on a car with a key and you'll find the recess intended to hold the i.a. transmitter if the batteries were too low for the car to read the transponder.

If it's only the classic ipods that are skipping, could be because they're hard drive based as opposed to the flash memory of the touch and shuffle models.

i received my 32gb low-profile thumbdrive yesterday and loaded it up. guess what: it also skips! i'm going to also try USB 2 but....

it appears to me that i may have a firmware issue. my car was assembled in June 2012. have there been any firmware updates?

My 60gb ipod skips (hooked into the USB2 mod *no MFT) and also my iphone skips when plugged into the center console USB port.

I am still on the free satellite radio trial and that skips when it first starts. It doesn't matter if you switch from a different mode or when turning the car on. After about 5-10 seconds, it repeats the first 5-10 seconds and then acts normally.
BTW, for the nay sayers who think i didn't notice if I was under a bridge or hidden from satellites by buildings or weather conditions: I've tested this in the very open parking lot at Walt Disney World's Ticket and Transportation Center (Specifically, Zurg's lot in the villain's section, a.k.a Magic Kingdom's parking lot)
