How tall was the cliff it got flung off of??

I kid.

I haven't been in every vehicle ever created but i've never, ever been in one that getting to neutral from any positioin (except park) wasn't just a simple bump of the shifter, not even a push button safety necessary.

That this kinda stuff is even possible makes my fuzzy little head EXPLODE. Proof the world is in fact ending I suppose. Not a natural occurrence as the "experts"claim, just a mindblowing degredation of society and common sense as we know it

Once had the accelerator get stuck on a 1968 Camaro with a BBC. That was fun.

The throttle cable on my grandmother's 1999 Ford Taurus stuck while accelerating on the freeway once. I had lightly tipped into the throttle more but it got sucked towards the firewall. Since it was cable operated I had the foresight to stick my foot under the pedal to try and un-stick the pedal, which worked, but broke the cable in the process at the plastic attachment at the pedal assembly, then I had to coast down past a cop and up an exit ramp crawling at an idle to a parking lot. A new cable later and the car was ok. Maybe I could have put it into neutral instead, but I was thinking of how to stop it accelerating the simplest way first.

Yeah but neither of you guys went full throttle for 45 minutes trying to figure out what to do.

Had a sticky tb before and yep got that second of holy crap wtf, then popped into neutral until I got it unstuck (toe under pedal) then cleaned it later that day..........

If the ditch has a slight incline or a couple boulders you could flip the car and kill yourself. At that speed you could also go airborne and if you were to hit a tree.... There are a lot of highways where you could do 100 plus for a couple hours

Hey just kidding, I am from the south so I am allowed.
If she would of tried harder, she could of put it out of gear. But everyone acts different when you panic. If everyone drove manuals this would not happen. The sad part is most people can not drive a manual and want an automatic.
Kia stopped offering a manual transmission on the Sorento when it was redesigned in 2011.

Only throttle sticking experience I had was when I was a dumb kid and had a Plymouth Volare 2 door with a hopped up 318 in it. I just hammered it coming out of a 35 mph turn. Well, the throttle stuck with the four barrels open!! My ass was facing the wrong direction and in the ditch before I could think about what the hell I did that for. I had plenty of time to figure out to turn the key off as the tires were digging holes in the mud. Losing your driving privileges and having to walk to work and school for two months no matter what the weather is really makes you think before you do stupid stuff next time!! My dad still laughs about this every time we get together at family things and everybody gets a good laugh at m expense. I should have kept that car,but it was so light in the ass end,it wouldn't hook up with the 318,let alone the built 340 I was planning to put into it. And it was a plymouth. I am a ford man now!!

Now I'm thinking.... she's lucky none of the truck drivers assumed that it's a hot pursuit and didn't decide to 'help' the police :D
