I'm probably going to empty my reservoir this weekend. I'll report back. Taking donations for a new bottle of washer fluid.
After thinking back, I recall my "!" coming on briefly once with no message anywhere. I don't remember if it was when I ran low or not.

Actually, if you could just get access to the electrical connector for the washer fluid switch/level sensor, it's only a two wire system and it should be pretty easy to simulate a 'closed' switch. Just using a bit of wire as a jumper between the two pins of the connector should cause the message to appear.
Unfortunately, the access is the issue, as you pretty much have to come from underneath the car or remove the right headlight (and deal with the possible adjustment issues there). The level sensor is on the outer side of the tank just back from the washer fluid pump. |

Also - there was an earlier comment that the cars have low oil level indication. Not sure about the Focus, but most cars have a low oil PRESSURE, not level indication. |

That makes sense except that the picture in Reply #66 is of the instrument panel display, not the center console display.
Unless the reply meant the instrument panel display has more functionality if you have the MFT system - seems odd for this circuit, but ... (Also - I knew there was the color screen with MFD and the monochrome screen with Sync and more basic on the S, but I didn't realize there was a center stack with the larger color screen without MFT). I did some digging and I think I know what he meant. The SE and up have a more complex Instrument Panel Screen with the little car to the right side of the screen. The S has a more basic IP display without the little car to the side and with the indicators in a different location (shifter position at the top instead of the bottom) and probably the S doesn't have the low washer fluid display - but that's just a guess. |

You shouldn't need the higher level trims to have this message displayed since the low resolution screens still display messages such as low tire pressure, trunk open, etc. As I said they ran the TSB, so let's just wait until I dump this load.

I concur it shouldn't be required, but I was only trying to explain what they claimed was necessary, which is the full color lcd, but yes if the sensor is still there it should show up on at least the SE since the SE has a trip computer, the S however only has a very basic system that only has a trip odometer afaik.

I was incorrect above.
The 2012's with SYNC or above have the display with the shift positions at the bottom and the 2013 SE's and up have this and should have the display. The 2012 SE's without SYNC and S's have the display with the shift position at the top (and the 2013 S?) and might not have the indication ... |
