I've talked to some of the Aussie guys, and they said that they don't have this issue on their forum, which is considerably smaller...

I suppose you already know that the SE Sport "touring" suspension does not have the mass damper, or you would have asked. Regardless, I thought I'd document with this pic that my Sport suspension does not have it.



I'm curious also if this only appears on the "handling" suspension.

I will also mention that my job 2 (4/26/12) SE Sport has no abnormal noises at 6K miles.

Ah, just another Mk1 owner scanning the 'New Posts' page and posting wherever without any regard to context. Disregard.

Anyways, the fact that my car has this and TboneZX3's does not, may point to the purported mid-year suspension changeover that Ford secretly made to the SE sport package. Or, it could be that Ford has deemed this "mass damper" unnecessary or problematic, and deleted it from all cars.

Any Titanium owners w/Handling Package with a 4/12 or later build care to report on whether their car has this metal brick attached to the front dampers or not?

A buddy at work has the exact same car as mine, but later build. I will find out his date and check out his struts to see...if he drove it in today.
