no need for sanding....just clean it really well and spray 4-5 light coats on it. Mine has like 6 or 7 coats...lol. and if you hate it, you can always peel it off

I used blow drier from wife and fishing to pull letters. Then got some adhesive remover from lowes to take goo off. After that i waxed and buffed with rag. Then put quick detailer on. From start to finish 30 min tops
