yeah a oven or heat gun is the way to go..
I was a little fraid with the oven way but it worked....

Before you put the silicone on did you peel off the old rubbery sealant crap?

i don't know if this question was answered yet but i don't feel like reading through the whole thread, but could this same procedure be used on the first gen headlamps?

This thread has inspired me to do this to my 2010 Focus SE....ive always wanted the SES look with the black/grey headlight and tail light look. So now the tail lights are in the oven and hopefully they turn out ok :) great right up tho!

Now do u need to use heat resistant paint or regular would be ok.

Heres a shot of myn. Buddy had a spare set lying around and i had some black spray paint so decided to paint em.
All i bought was the sealant witch was 5.50 for 2 smal tubes.

Dang dude. I did this to my 07 and it was horrible. It looks sick but its not sealed at all. And the lense didnt pop back into place on top. Its pretty sketchy as it sits. I dont know what i'm going to do. I wish mine would have turned out as good as yours.
