I live in Cleveland, where snow and salt are inevitable...
Aside from a weekly undercarriage cleaning at my local no-touch car wash, what can I get done to help protect my new Focus from the damages of winter that will soon be approaching us. |

ziebart does undercoating. basically covers the majority of the underside in a rubber-like material if u didn't know. my '96 splash had it done by the original owner and when i bought it in '01 i had it redone. it is still rust-free in '12:) my mom's '99 is almost completely rusted (back doors won't open, almost fell through the bed, the leaf springs rusted and broke, etc.)

I was a bit wary on purchasing my Focus because of underbody rust. My old Contour's frame was rusted out, but she lasted a good 16 years. Thank you for the tip!
