Make sure that the upper intake support is mounted properly.

gotcha
You are referring to the throttle body/cable bracket, right? It's untouched, and solid.

No, there is a part of the upper manifold that attaches to another point for support. You will probably have to look from underneath the car.

yeah, theres a stud coming off of the engine block above the oil filter. the IM has a slot that slides down around the washer at the end of the stud.

BUT, the image of the two intake mani parts (above) should have something to do with this hidden support, one would think, so is sort of confusing. -T_T

Unfortunately that image doesnt show it. if 9424A was turned 180 degrees youd see the slot to slide around the stud end coming off of the block.

Just did this last night. It's not too hard. The support is right under the #3 intake runner (3rd one from the drivers side). And you can definitely see it from the underside of the car.

Sorted, thanks!

The 'ear' that should have had a bolt holding down the mani was broken. Bolt is long gone, about 1/4 inch gap from the ear to the block. Being rather Bohemian, and quite clever I cut one end open to fit either side of the reinforcement up on the broken ear, loosened one side of the mani boot screws for some 'give' and torqued down the new Mickey-Mouse fix. How'd THAT thing break? Who knows, I wasn't that rough... Oh, well... -Tommy
