Sittin' on 65 miles so far, can't wait to let er' rip wide-open. I have built engines with the usual 10 minute run time and then Run the heck out, rip apart tweak and peak, then off to Lake Tahoe (6 hours) at 80+...Getting older i guess, break'er in slow w/constant offset RPM...

My Focus just passed its first birthday, and it's just a few weeks away from the delivery anniversary. Still loving it, just slightly less than I did before the MyFord Touch 3 fiasco.

Just drove 460 miles yesterday. Got 38.5 mpg going about 70-80 the whole way. I was pretty pleased.

Had it over 100mph and it is decently planted but you do still get a bit more lift when it's windy buit not bad for a 2900lb car. My STI weighs in at 3700lbs and feels downright sedate at 140 on a track of course.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to an HPDE at VIR, maybe next spring if the finances work out. Anyone can mash a gas pedal.

New Focus owner

I have been scanning the threads on this forum looking for a place to introduce myself, and this looks as good as any. We will be picking up our new 2012 Focus this evening. We are trading in our 2011 Fiesta, which is a great little car, but the year-end deals and the fun styling of the new Focus lured us in and we drank the koolaid.

The car is an SE model in Sterling Gray metallic, with the sport appearance package (4 wheel disk brakes, 16" alloy wheels and spoiler). I'll try to get my profile updated with pictures as time permits.

Happy happy Focus owner!!

New here - picked up my Candy Red SE Manual about two weeks ago and just broke into the 1,000 mile mark this past Sunday. First mod had to be some 4300K HIDs - Love the car, I was the owner of a Ford Edge for a long time and forgot how fun it was to drive a light manual car!
I think the new Focus is great, needless to mention the amazing improvement in the body styling - night and day from previous ones. Gas mileage is also a big plus, in fact, one of my main reasons from switching out of the 3.5 V6...
I do have a few reservations about the car, which I'm pretty sure many of us have already mentioned... For example, I find it to be a bit pricey... tight space for rear passengers? cup-holders? rear drums with 16" steelies?? really? Why are the steering wheel radio buttons on the right-hand side?? I can easily reach out for the knob on the unit itself with that same hand... this defeats the purpose!!
Otherwise, really nice little ride and I know I'm going to enjoy it for a few years! :)
