Yeah, actually 22 and change. But It has 13k miles left on bumper to bumper, so I'm good with it. The test drive was fine. The only thing is the sputter in the morning. I think it's either fuel pressure or the friction plates on the faux auto-manual transmission. I went from a 97 neon 109,000 miles frequent over heating, to this so, a little sputter in the am and the then all day perfection.... I'll take it. I would have been upset if I acually paid 20 something thousand for the same problem.

Just filled my tank. After mostly city driving, 20 or 30 miles highway I averaged 30.4 MPG. My odometer reads a bit over 4000 miles.

I didn't notice the shake at all test driving the car, only noticed it when my girlfriend pointed it out. My 5-speed Civic does the exact same thing except much more violently, so it actually seemed smooth to me until it was pointed out. Now that I notice it it's somewhat annoying, but it only happens every so often.

That being said the car only has 100 miles on it so hopefully it'll smooth itself out.

#x's and still not resolved

Well purchased my brand new 2012 Ford Focus on May 21, 2011. My vehicle had to be ordered and was delivered to me on May 24th. Upon driving it, I found that when I would come to a stop and push the gas to go, it would sputter and hesitate. I have been dealing with it for over 2 weeks and decided to contact my dealership.

I took the vehicle to the shop on June 3rd. The tech drove with me and felt exactly what I was talking about. He stated that he had to put it on the computer. Within 30 minutes, he came out with a piece of paper stating 2012 Focus automatic transmission shudder. Some 2012 focus vehicles equipped with the powershift/DPS6 transmission may experience a shudder/shake on start up or when slowing to a stop. This condition does not cause durability or reliably concerns and will deminish as the clutch breaks in. "IF CUSTOMERS COMPLAIN OF THIS ISSUE, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AND SHARE THIS SERVICE MESSAGE WITH THE CUSTOMER.

My question was, how long does this go on and when will it stop? No on could answer. Has anyone else felt this issue? I could not find any post on this prior to me putting this up. I stated I do not feel safe in the vehicle. The car at times when I pull out on the road feels just like it will stall out. After sending an email to the VP of the dealership, I was contacted by the service manager. He stated that he is working on getting an answer from Ford.. At the time of service there were 781 miles on my car. Today there are 1291 and still nothing has changed. I am awaiting a reply and will move forward if I don't like the answer.

Also, yesterday while driving, my shoe lace got caught on brake peddle. Has anyone else ever gotten stuck on the brake peddle? Just curious. It freaked me out.
I had the same problem from the beginning; then I got the recall letter; took it in and thought all was fine. Yesterday driving down busy street; my car started to stop shake and almost died while driving. I accellerated and it would go about a block and then do it again. Now car is at dealer and they tell me there are not issued that Ford is having so they do anything until it happens again. I really don't feel safe driving it now; what should I do?

Tell them you want all the system software reflashed. It's something they usually ignore unless requested. Solved my problems.

Hi exact same problems exact same price. IN Virginia our lemon law states 3 times in shop for same problem with no fix, well today was my third time in a month, car has 3,000 miles on it and is getting worse, so now I file a lemon law claim and going to court.

I got the recall letter; took it in 3,000 miles ago; This has been goin on since I got it; told I had to break it in. The dealer called ad told me theyreset computer; Ford CO. called left message for me to call them on Mon. I called another dealer that I'm familiar with in Southern CA. they told me the need to get a transmission specialist sit has to do with clutch issue in the transmission. So, guess I will see what they say...When the car didn't spaz out on me I did get avg in town 34 miles to gal. and once in awhile I got 38 to 42 on freeway. Thanks for the info and will see what happens..I'm just scared to drive it now.

Our Ford Customer Service rep can give you hand if your dealer is not taking the problem seriously. It seems like they are trying to do the right thing. Some of these cars have problems with internal bearings and the clutches. You did the right thing by waiting until the car would act that way predictably. The techs have to be able to recreate the problem in order to diagnose it.

If you are afraid to drive your car, then take it to the dealer and have it looked at under warranty. If your dealer is not being cooperative, then you should contact our Ford Customer Service representative with your name, VIN, and the dealer in question. Uncooperative dealers cooperate after being contacted by Ford corporate.
