They don't (but I haven't had to make any claims yet, knock on wood) but I don't want to push/risk it. I installed my Steeda sway bar there, but I'm not worried about suspension, only powertrain. We all get along there so I'm sure they'd cut me some slack, but I keep a healthy respect for certain warranties.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, honestly.

In the US, (thanks to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act) to deny a warranty claim due to aftermarket parts, they would first have to prove that a specific aftermarket component caused the failure in the first place.

If anything, a stiffer rear mount should prolong the life of the other two motor mounts. I'm not sure if there's an equivalent of the MM act up there, but I'd look into it if you're really that worried.

I've heard of that one before, and it just makes sense. It's not really that I'm 'worried', rather I'm playing it safe. I bought a new car for warranties, and it is basically the first year of the model so who knows what could be encountered down the road as these cars get mileage on them. The mount is definitely an attractive option, in terms of price and reported improvement. I will be looking into it for sure.

If anything I should be more worried about my parents who would definitely get worried as to what I'm doing to the car.

Well, after I changed the oil, rotated the tires, and installed new plugs on the girlfriend's car, I was able to install half of the Steeda shifter, which was the reduction bracket that goes on the shift arm under the hood. Since I had a fair bit of flashing on the cast arm, I had to do a fair bit of filing on the lever arm to get the bracket to fit properly. The removal of the battery took a little time, too.

I'll hopefully have the chance to do the rest on Friday or Saturday, but that depends on the weather.

So far, the throw reduction is pretty significant with just the bracket installed; color me impressed thus far. Can't wait to get the rest of the kit in the car, and I really can't wait for the MS3 RMM to arrive.

Finally finished up the install on the Steeda short shifter kit... and it rocks. This car's slowly getting more fun to drive.

Now I just need to sort out the suspension clunking issues I've been having.

i also work for Ford in a refurbishment centre here in england, but i have never heard of Candy blue.

silver wheels look a bit like the Fiat 500 essesse alloys, but look spot on in silver on your car :)

That's a sweet shot of your car. I'v been thinking about getting a roof rack on mine, but I don't want it to mess up the roof. I have the Yakima rack that you originally had and it messed up the roof on both my Cobalt and Civic.

Does the Thule make any wind noise without the fairing?
